STANLEE OHIKHUARE and DAVID SCHIFTER win in IndieFEST Film Awards
Lagos, Nigeria, November 2nd, 2017 – STANLEE OHIKHUARE (Nigeria), of MIGHTY JOT STUDIOS, has won a prestigious Award of Recognition, from the IndieFEST Film Awards. The award was given for STANLEE OHIKHUARE'S exciting Surreal Drama, (IDAHOSA TRAILS), which is a well crafted fictional narrative, with a story - line fostered by true events (Facts) IDAHOSA TRAILS features an exceptional story line that is true to its premise. It also features believable performance by the actors; especially DAVID SCHIFTER - who also won the BEST ACTOR award for the same movie. His Nigerian supporting lead; KUNLE IDOWU was also a delight to see on screen. The visual story - telling style employed by the filmmaker is quite compelling, and the pace and story progression is sufficiently engaging. IDAHOSA TRAILS' clear and compelling picture is further complemented by the high quality of the movie's sound. Accepting the award, STANLEE OHIKHUARE says "We set out to accomplish a movie with a steady progression in the story - telling. Many people from our country are always on the look out for a quick fix of spontaneous slap sticks and excessive lines. They crave for action and talking heads; thereby losing the essence of true story - telling. Such people might not find IDAHOSA TRAILS meeting their expectations because it does not satisfy their quest for "action and noise" over storytelling. But we're certain that the discerning few, who really understand pace, progression and story in Film would be delighted with it" We thank the organizers of the Award for recognizing our hard work.

MOVIE ATTRIBUTES: Drama, mild action, Suspense and Inspiration
TONALITY & LIGHTING DESIGN: The story telling explores the generous use of emotion – drivers including suspense, uncertainty, hope and victory to create emotional curves that will keep the viewers entertained. pictorially, graded tonality will utilize the color chart to depict unfolding feelings.
SCORE: The music score reflects both classical film sound samples and traditional Bini compositions; used intuitively to convey a wide variety of predetermined emotions.
ART DIRECTION: The opening sequence contrasts the end sequence. The movie begins with a vivid portrayal of life in the old Bini city as a way of creating a believable contrast between the Bini of old and the Benin city that was eventually captured for Christ by archbishop Benson Idahosa. As the seasons change, so does the art direction.
CINEMATOGRAPHY: The cinematography explores in detail, the emotional characteristics of the full color spectrum; from the infrared to the ultraviolet. Computer generated digital art was used to embellish surreal scenes to enable us to push the boundaries of reality.
CASTING: We relied heavily on physical likeness for the characters of Benson Idahosa and his wife. However, for other characters, emphasis was on getting the perfect actors to efficiently interpret the roles, irrespective of their experience level.
STORY -TELLING MECHANISM: Drama, reenactments of actual historic events, audible narratives (suggestive of Benson Idahosa’s voice and that of the other lead characters)
NARRATIVE CONTENT: The narrative content of the movie is reflected in the screenplay.
THE PURPOSE OF THE MOVIE: The purpose of this movie is to inspire faith in a faithless world, and to rekindle a revival within the Christian community.
